Jailbreak tweaks bring 3D Touch gestures, Split View to devices that wouldn’t
But thanks to the world of jailbreaking and the hard work of the Straya Dev Team, you can get the very same 3D Touch quick gestures on older iPhone models as well.
Peek is used to zoom-out and see the full view whereas the Pop element lets you do quite the opposite, meaning zoom-in and check out the in-app specifics.
Forcy was even updated today with a new setting that lets you switch the gesture to a long press. Users now have the ability to jump in and out of information using the functionality. Version 41.0 of Facebook’s iOS app, which became available on the iTunes store today, comes with support for Apple’s 3D Touch technology, which lets users control their devices based on how much pressure they apply to the screens.
Facebook’s latest iOS update to support 3D Touch allows users with new iPhones to more quickly navigate to three actions from the home screen: taking photos or videos; uploading photos or videos; or writing posts. Sync your timeline across your iPhone, iPad, and Mac (Tweetbot for Mac also available in the Mac App Store).
In fact, there are quite a few languages that are supported with this release, and the list includes English, Arabic, Bokmål, Norwegian, Catalan, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Malay, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Slovak, Spanish, Swedish, Thai, Traditional Chinese, Turkish, Ukrainian and Vietnamese. Simply swipe up on an icon and a quick action for said app will appear. Samsung is reportedly planning to “mimic the feature” on its upcoming Galaxy S7 smartphone expected to be announced in early January.
The Peek and Pop feature has been introduced by Apple during the revealing of the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus, as an added feature for the 3D Touch. It allows users to perform functions like variable speed scrolling, image panning and zooming, unlocking and waking up the device, right click mouse behavior for context menus and more.
