Jaitley involved in DDCA corruption: AAP
Those who are demanding a JPC on a false allegation, I want to inform them that the JPC won’t be formed. He also attacked the AAP and its government of trying to “deflect” attention from the issue of corruption and “interference” in the probe.
“The main objective of the CBI raid at the Delhi Secretariat and taking control of the Anti-Corruption Branch was to prevent alleged graft in DDCA during Arun Jaitley’s tenure coming to light”, the AAP alleged. “Now the question arises is that the offences are being looked at by Company Law Board on charges against the officers of DDCA for irregularities during the time Jaitely was the President of DDCA. So he should immediately tender resignation”, AAP leader Sanjay Singh tweeted.
“We demand that Shri Arun Jaitley as chairman of DDCA and his team’s gross financial irregularities are inquired into by a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) to arrive at the truth”.
“His (Kejriwal’s) intention was not to act into the serious allegations of irregularities in the DDCA”, Maken said.
Another minister, Ravi Shankar Prasad, said Jaitley’s honesty and integrity were well-known.
Speaking to media outside the Parliament, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister M Venkaiah Naidu said that there was no need for him (Jaitley) to resign as he had nothing wrong.
“In the year 2012, the Director, Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO), Ministry of Corporate Affairs received complaints regarding financial irregularities in the construction of Ferozeshah Kotla Stadium by DDCA (a section 25 Non-profit Company)”.
Lambasting the Kejriwal Government for holding back the DDCA report for almost a month, he said, : “The DDCA report was put before Kejriwal one month back, and since last one month nothing has happened in the report”. The initial budget was Rs. 24 crore but eventually ended up costing Rs. 114 crore. “Doesn’t the same logic apply to Jaitley too”, AAP leaders told reporters at a press conference in Delhi.
Upset with the raids, CM Kejriwal blamed the Centre for misusing CBI for political positive factors and alleged that the company truly got here on the lookout for information referring to widespread corruption at the DDCA, which is headed by Jaitley.
The Congress has demanded a JPC probe against Finance Minister Jaitley over alleged financial irregularities in the DDCA, Delhi’s cricket club.
The party accused the Centre of using the CBI against the Delhi government, whenever they planned to probe corruption in DDCA.
