James, Love lead Cavaliers past Bucks, 115-100
LeBron James was able to post another solid game, scoring 27 points, dishing out 6 assists, and pulling down nine rebounds. James scored six points and Love had a three-point play in that stretch.
A confident Cleveland Cavaliers side jumped all over the Atlanta Hawks in the first half and kept them at arm’s length in the second, using a combination of offensive ball movement and defensive industry to coast to a 109-97 victory. Center Greg Monroe had 17 points and eight rebounds while Khris Middleton scored 15 points.
Cousins, averaging 30.8 points in his last five games, was suspended for hitting Atlanta’s Al Horford in the head with a forearm Wednesday night in the Kings’ loss to the Hawks.
The Cavs shot 48 percent, passed for 27 assists on 41 baskets and led by as many as 26 in the third quarter.
Led by Kyle Korver’s nine consecutive points, Atlanta made a mini-run in the third quarter.
Jabari Parker returned after missing a game because of a sprained right foot and scored 14 points. They started the night without starting point guard Kyrie Irving (knee surgery), starting shooting guard Iman Shumpert (wrist surgery) and backup Mo Williams, who was a surprise scratch with a sore right leg.
There was just one problem – you’re not allowed to do that. “We’ve got a great leader in LeBron”.
Bucks coach Jason Kidd was disappointed his team couldn’t finish off the comeback.
“It was kind of disjointed in terms of how well we played at a few moments and then how helter-skelter and off-keel we played at other moments”, Blatt said. Two guys who will help the Cavs stay on point are James and Blatt, because they appear to have buried whatever awkwardness that previously existed between them.
Milwaukee had a franchise-low 22 rebounds. The Clippers are starting to get healthy, so this should be a high-flying, entertaining game.
“In general what really, really defines him as a player is his desire to win championships”, Blatt said.
It’s hard to pick the Bucks until they get back to playing defense. “Above and beyond all of the overwhelming accolades and greatness he’s displayed throughout his career, it’s pretty easy to team up with a guy like that and it’s also refreshing to come every day and know that you’re about the same things with your best guy”.
Arron Afflalo contributed 16 points, while Carmelo Anthony added 14 for the Knicks, who snapped an 11-game losing streak against the Rockets. According to espn.com, James said after their loss to the Andre Drummond-led Detroit Pistons. “He’s all over the floor”.
The above play isn’t the most remarkable moment from last night’s game between the Cavaliers and Bucks, but it’s one that says a lot about Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo’s continued growth as a player.
