Jamie Chung’s Mulan Is Returning to ‘Once Upon a Time’
The last time we saw Mulan on Once Upon a Time was in the show’s third season, as she went and joined Robin Hood (Sean Maguire) and his band of Merry Men after learning that Princess Aurora (Sarah Bolger), who it was revealed that Mulan had feelings for, was pregnant with Prince Philip’s (Julian Morris) baby.
Upon hearing the news Mulan felt resigned to her fate of never being with Aurora so she decided to join Robin Hood and his gang. Chung admitted that she would return as Mulan in a heartbeat because she finds it disappointing to leave the OUAT fans with this big question mark on her character. After having been gone for nearly two whole seasons, Jamie Chung is set to return as the fierce warrior in Season 5 of the ABC series.
There are probably still some Once Upon a Time fans out there who are confused about Mulan’s sexuality, but Jamie Chung cleared things up during an interview with E! There were also hints of a possible romance for Mulan, but it is unclear as of now if that romance will be linked to Princess Aurora. Meanwhile, in the Enchanted Forest, Emma struggles to resist her dark urges as she searches for Merlin in the hope that he can stop her transformation. In addition to courageous anti-princess Merida’s inclusion, we’ve now learned that Mulan will be making a grand reappearance. Hopefully, this means that she’ll have plenty of time to get some closure with Aurora so that she can start looking for love elsewhere. However, Adam Horowitz, the show’s executive producer constantly updated his Twitter account and he made mention that Mulan will appear in both halves of “Once Upon A Time” Season 5.
Check out the adventure-filled season five premiere of Once Upon a Time on Sunday, September 27 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network. Thrilled to welcome @jamiechung1 back to #OnceUponATime season 5!
