Jamie Vardy: Leicester striker playing despite broken wrist
Leicester play Norwich City on Saturday and the Premier League top goal scorer will be looking to add to his tally of six for the season.
Leicester forward Jamie Vardy’s double was not enough for Claudio Ranieri’s boys to win as the Gunners’ trio of strikers Alexis Sanchez, Theo Walcott, and Oliver Giroud all found the back of the net during the match.
The 28-year-old broke two bones in his wrist against Aston Villa a fortnight ago but he did not let that stop him and scored twice against Arsenal last weekend. He deserves to be in the squad but it is up to Roy to choose the players.
The Leicester striker made his first global start in September’s European Qualifier against San Marino and is again
“The medical staff have done very well to treat it (the injury)”, said Ranieri.
And Ranieri said ahead of Leicester’s visit to Norwich City: “He [Vardy] wants to play and doesn’t want to stop because of injury”.
“Vardy is very good“.
With on loan Swansea winger Nathan Dyer being clattered in the game against Villa, Ranieri went on to say that whilst he’s back and fit this game does come too soon for him. I’ve got a game cast and referees are happy with it. It’s lightweight and there’s no chance of harming anyone. It is awesome. This is a fantastic sport for the other players and he wants to show “yes, he can too”. It is not a big problem for the outfield players but for the ‘keepers it would not be possible.
