Janet Jackson Postpones Tour for Surgery
It’s probably not the news fans want to wake up to this Christmas morning, but Janet Jackson has postponed her Unbreakable World Tour.
Jackson’s catalog of hits dates back to the mid-1980s, ranging from “What Have You Done for Me Lately” to “That’s the Way Love Goes” and “All for You”. She apologised to her fans, asking them to keep their tickets and promising to “honor them in a special way”, when the dates are rescheduled.
Jackson was due to resume her tour on January 9 in Denver and has dates across the United States, Canada and Europe lined up through late June. “It breaks my heart to tell you that I am forced to postpone the Unbreakable Tour until the spring”, the message posted to her Twitter page read. Writing on her official account, she stated: “Hey you guys…” There will be no further comment.
“Please pray for me, my family and our entire company during this hard time”, Jackson said.
She added: ‘Every date will be rescheduled. This means it is highly likely to make more money than the previous 2011 “Number Ones” tour that industry sources said had grossed $26.5 million from about 70 shows.
Unbreakable is her eleventh studio album and the first after the death of her pop star brother Michael Jackson in 2009.
