Japanese national shot dead in northern Bangladesh
In this same week, on September 28th, a foreigner murder took place and reportedly police officers of Bangladesh say that there may be a few connection to both the murders.
Police in Bangladesh stated they’ve detained three individuals in reference to the capturing dying on Saturday of a Japanese citizen, the second overseas national killed in the South Asian nation inside a week.
Kunio Hoshi, 65, was attacked by unidentified assailants around 10 a.m. on a visit to Kownia, in the district of Rangpur, 335 km north of the capital, Dhaka, and died on his way to hospital, police said.
Details about the victim’s identity or his workplace were not immediately known, though local television station Channel 24 said he worked at a farm in Rangpur.
Unknown miscreants have shot dead a Japanese national in Rangpur district of Bangladesh, media reports said on Saturday.
“They shot him there and drove away”.
Police said one of the three confined individuals was a rickshaw puller and another is proprietor of a living apartment near where the assault occurred.
But the authorities said there was no evidence behind the claim. “His body has been brought to the morgue of Rangpur Medical College”, a police officer said, adding that the man was shot at close range.
Militant outfit Islamic State (IS) claimed responsibility for Tavella’s murder but Bangladesh and Indian intelligence doubted the group’s direct involvement with the killing.
Tavella’s killing happened after an alert issued to its citizens by the United Kingdom and Australia advised caution, limit movements and avoid public places.
Bangladesh, where most of the population is Muslim, has been struggling in recent months with a rise in violence claimed by hard-line Islamic groups, banning several that have been blamed for killing four bloggers this year.
