Japanese wrestler celebrates gold by slamming her coach into the ground
When Risako Kawai became one of the four Japanese women to win gold in wrestling, she celebrated with another bit of wrestling.
Risako Kawai chose to celebrate her gold medal win by body slamming her coach Sakae to the ground after winning the -63 kg freestyle final against Mariya Mamashuk from Belarus.
Risako Kawai then paraded Kazuhito Sakae around the arena on her shoulders, delighting the crowd with her celebration. (Take that, Belarus.) But better still is how Kuwai made a decision to celebrate her victory – she grabbed her coach and delivered not one, but two devastating Attitude Adjustments to him in quick succession, then carried him around the stage.
The video of the 21-year-old slamming her coach has gone viral.
His third try was the charm as a smiling Kawai finally embraced Sakae.
‘Before the final, the coach said he wanted me to lift him on his shoulders, ‘ she told Japanese media.
“My coach told me to keep a cool head and be daring, and I always had it in my mind to attack”, Kawai told The Japan Times of Sakae, a former Olympian who competed in the 1988 Games.
