Jared Goff Will Start Week 11

It seems like the Los Angeles Rams are taking a risk on putting rookie quarterback Jared Goff on the start of their game against Miami Dolphins.

“It’s time”, Fisher said.

It’s a desperation move for Fisher in a season that has reeked of it from April’s draft. And while there is a presumption of an extension in place to keep him in L.A. beyond 2016, nothing is official and his future could depend on how the Rams finish the regular season.

If there is one team that Fisher shouldn’t have started Goff’s career against, it is definitely the Dolphins. Or be the result of interests beyond the office of a potentially lame-duck head coach. The win snapped a four-game losing streak for the Rams, but over his past five games, Keenum threw eight interceptions and just five touchdowns.

Despite Keenum’s poor play, the Rams are 4-5 and still within striking distance of a wild-card spot.

Maybe Goff would have made the difference. “I think a lot of us guys take a lot of it personally, so we’ve been working on it”. Goff could do no worse and when he does make a mistake you would tend to give a small break due to his inexperience.

Rams players said they respected Keenum but would rally behind Goff, who could provide a spark to the offense. The Rams are last in the National Football League in points scored so Goff is going to have a tough go this week but the Rams will at least have the secrecy of Goff. NFL Network’s Steve Wyche previously reported that Goff has made significant progress in practice during the season. It took eleven games, but now Goff will replace Keenum.

On April 14, the Rams traded up for the No. 1 pick in the National Football League draft, and Keenum, a reasonable, intelligent man, knew the future.

The Rams traded six draft picks to the Tennessee Titans for the opportunity to move up from No. 15 to No. 1 to select Goff.

Was Fisher out of his mind?

Dilfer – who has coached Goff periodically since he was 17-years-old when Goff attended the Elite 11 camp – wasn’t shy about how he thinks the Rams coaching staff will hurt Goff. As a matter of fact, the trio attended the Rams-Panthers game in L.A. back in Week 9.

But Keenum has struggled along with the Los Angeles offense, repeatedly failing to make big plays in important situations.

He stuck to his guns.

It was the third game in which the Rams’ offense failed to score a touchdown, which prompted Fisher to joke Monday that his team was an “offensive juggernaut” and 2-1 in games when the Rams had not produced a TD. Sometimes bluntly, sometimes sublimely. “So we thought they were just like speculating”. Or some meaning behind them. Michael has struggled the last couple of games and back C.J, Prosise has emerged as a threat on the rushing and the receiving end, the Seahawks saw no objective in keeping Michael.
