Jared Kushner Asks Lawyer About Joining Trump Administration

Months later, Christie went a step further, expressing his pleasure in triumphant terms when Kushner was sentenced to two years in prison.
Kushner is an Orthodox Jew whose wife, Ivanka, converted to Judaism before they married. During the campaign, Trump made several provocative remarks about Japan, declaring that it needed to pay more to provide for its own defense and suggesting that it consider acquiring nuclear weapons. Neither of those descriptions attaches to the president-elect.
So yes, Kushner could legally take a job in the Trump White House. There’s no federal law banning nepotism in private businesses, but the practice comes with a laundry list of ethical concerns.
There is not a general consensus among legal analysts as to whether allowing Kushner to serve as a White House staff member is legal.
The wealthy son of New Jersey real state mogul (and convicted felon) Charles Kushner, Jared was an exceedingly loyal soldier during his father-in-law’s campaign, most notably defending Trump against charges of trafficking in hatred of Jews when he retweeted a blatantly anti-Semitic image. “Jared was one of those guys who would marry the right kind of girl”. In 2014, he told The Real Deal, a NY real estate news publication, that the case put him off a career in criminal law.
And then it gave what seemed to be an endorsement of Kushner joining the administration – as long as the president-elect severed those business ties. Young Jared was trained to stand before a crowd at fundraisers in the Kushner home and introduce senators by rattling off their accomplishments.
These emissaries will also provide an insight into the new administration’s priorities for running the government’s national security apparatus, since they will populate the agencies with hundreds of political appointees, from deputy secretaries to midlevel officials. Kushner Real Estate Group is separate from Kushner Companies, which Murray Kushner started in 2000.
Too roguish, as it turned out. And Politico reports that friends call Kushner “aggressively self-deprecating”. Kushner didn’t just marry into wealth; he has plenty of money of his own.
The brother-in-law had been cooperating with the feds.
The person who put Kushner’s father behind bars was then U.S. Attorney Chris Christie. Christie would become governor.
The Kushner name had been tarnished.
Even in Washington, Jared remains Charles Kushner’s son.
“I see Jared as like the Alexander Hamilton of the new administration”. In fact, while his father was jailed for tax fraud, the budding businessman took over the family firm and made a habit of turning to other older men for advice.
Kushner, 35, is the husband of Ivanka Trump, the president-elect’s eldest daughter. In the process, she has drawn attention to troubling questions about potential conflicts of interest that have existed ever since the Trump transition process began.
Another source told NBC News the Christie fallout largely stemmed from a perception he wasn’t actively and vocally loyal enough during Trump’s Access Hollywood tape controversy, and is now facing fallout from the perception he stayed on the sidelines.
Kushner responded by writing in the Observer, “In my opinion, accusations like “racist” and “anti-Semite” are being thrown around with a carelessness that risks rendering these words meaningless”.
He noted that his grandparents survived the Holocaust and other relatives did not.
According to CNN, Kushner is one of Trump’s top advisors but is reportedly “at the center of the ‘infighting'” inside of Trump’s transition team.
In recent days, Donald Trump’s transition chief lost his responsibilities and standing.
Two people close to the transition, who spoke on condition of anonymity, described Rogers’ departure as a firing, a move that came about because of friction between Christie and Kushner.
A campaign spokesperson and Kushner associates have told reporters that Jared Kushner and his family’s history with Christie had nothing to do with his humbling.
