Jared Leto on Heath Ledger’s Joker: ‘One of the best performances ever’
The latest details and spoilers for “Suicide Squad” regarding a possible member’s death, cameo appearance by The Flash and David Ayer clarifiying The Joker’s origin. But you will get to see what sort of tricks the Clown Prince has up his sleeve when Suicide Squad arrives on August 5.
One theory that gained traction among fans revolved around the Joker’s origin story, positing that he is an adult Jason Todd – a.k.a. Batman’s sidekick Robin.
Also, DC Entertainment unleashed an action-packed “sizzle reel” for Suicide Squad at San Diego Comic-Con over the weekend, and it’s online here. Fans have pointed to circular wounds on Leto’s Joker which line up with similar wounds on the Robin outfit Bruce Wayne kept in the Batcave in BVS as well as a tattoo of a bird on the Joker’s bicep.
The “Suicide Squad” actor – who plays The Joker in the upcoming movie – owns a 100,000 square foot former secret Air Force base in Los Angeles which he describes as a “poor man’s Playboy Mansion”. It’s quite possible that there will be something about The Joker’s past being brought into the spotlight in the film, but his name won’t end up being that of Jason Todd. “Because it’s like, what, you got a scene and then all of a sudden dudes are cracking jokes, and then you’re back into the old scene?” Watch Ayer shutting down the rumors in the clip below.
Jay Hernandez, Karen Fukuhara, Margot Robbie and Will Smith posed with Miami commissioner Frank Carollo at the Suicide Squad Wynwood Block Party and Mural Reveal.
It was rumored that Captain Boomerang’s (Jai Courtney) origin will be feature the Scarlet Speedster capturing and sending him to prison.
We’ll just have to wait until August 5 when Suicide Squad comes out in the United Kingdom to find out which heroes are going to try saving the day.
Suicide Squad stars Jared Leto as The Joker, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Will Smith as Deadshot and Cara Delevingne as Enchantress.
