Jared Leto Wants a Standalone Joker Movie
Analysts predict Suicide Squad will earn around $133 million domestically from the entire weekend, putting it in the top five openings of 2016.
Jared Leto has hinted that a Suicide Squad spin-off film featuring his character The Joker could happen in the near future. Writer-director David Ayer doesn’t have the right graphic technique for a comic-book-style jamboree – he’s strictly a noirish-pulp guy – and the characters, all of whom are promisingly introduced, fizzle fast.
If you’ve seen Suicide Squad, tell us what you thought of Miller’s cameo as the Flash in the comment section below! One of the most interesting things about this, though, is that Suicide Squad is doing better with women (it received an A- Cinemascore among females).
“I think that would be great to dive in deeper to the Joker and expand his story and learn a bit more about this sick and twisted – but lovely – odd man”. In two words, it’s ugly trash.
It is a reflection though of the underlying issue inherent within the concept of “Suicide Squad” that would stump even the best of filmmakers, let alone one as inconsistent as writer/director David Ayer.
Now a weekend is there in front of the film and filmmakers are expected more from the film.
“We’re really proud of this film. this is a work of love, and I hope the fans like it.”
“There’s so much that we shot that’s not in the film”.
Warning: This post contains spoilers for Suicide Squad.
However, it sounds like Jared believes there’s a chance the supervillain may return in another big DC outing, perhaps even in a Joker movie – dependent on audience “response”, of course.
Especially since Suicide Squad has reduced the Joker to a caricature of some horny boyfriend opposite Margot Robbie / Harley Quinn’s love struck bubblegum princess that is nearly impossible to fathom as a moviegoer.
