Jaromir Jagr bringing back the mullet
George Richards of the Miami Herald had this very important style scoop on Monday afternoon, relaying that Jagr would grow out his hair because he felt he was required to do so.
Apparently it didn’t take long for Jaromir Jagr to give in to the request to go all early 1990s on us.
“I think I’m old enough to have short hair now,” Jagr told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette in September 1999. The team also accepted applications for a fan to become the newest member of The Traveling Jagr’s, a group of Jagr superfans that travels around the league wearing mullet wigs and different Jagr jerseys from each of his stops in the NHL.
It appears this may be the work of veteran Panthers goaltender Roberto Luongo, who began advocating for the mullet a few weeks ago, and now, he got his wish. But a mullet knows no constrictions.
After acquiring him from the New Jersey Devils before the trade deadline last season the Panthers had a “mullet night” in his honor.
Guys we did it!!!!! A full season of Jagr, a suddenly-deep roster and a promising defense are the main reasons why these Panthers carry plenty of optimism into this season. He even now plays in Florida, which is kind of like semi-retirement.
