Jaromir Jagr vows to bring back mullet
Jaromir Jagr will look a little different this season, but in a familiar way.
The affable, indestructible, unblackmailable Jagr told Panthers beat reporter George Richards that he is indeed bringing back his hockey pelt of yore. He won his only two Stanley Cups in his first two seasons, and donned the mullet for much of his early years. Sure there will definitely be more gray in it this go around for the creature on his head, but oh the fan fodder that is to come.
If you’re hoping to catch a glimpse of the Jagr mullet in Boston, the Panthers visit the Bruins on Saturday, December 12, when at least a mini-mullet should be visible. Especially one that whisps around on National Hockey League ice skating at full speed. Midnight skates, workouts on the road before bed, water workouts, weighted sticks, whatever it takes, all part of the work ethic instilled in him years ago growing up in what’s now the Czech Republic. Tampa Bay, Chicago and the New York Rangers played in more playoff games last season alone.
“I have to”, Jagr said, according to Richards. It’s its own entity.
As you can imagine, Luongo was elated with the news, only to tweet today, “Guys we did it!!!!”
