Jason Garrett won’t rule Tony Romo out for Week 1
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has been on fire this preseason and he will get his shot to play in the National Football League after Tony Romo suffered a broken bone in his back earlier this week.
Prescott was impressive enough in the first two preseason games to make owner and general manager Jerry Jones comfortable with him as Romo’s backup, rather than bringing in a veteran.
Romo has a broken bone in his back and is reportedly expected to miss between six and 10 weeks of action.
“The national anthem is and always will be a special part of the pregame ceremony”, the team said. He was crunched by Seahawks defensive end Cliff Avril from the blind side.
Head coach Jason Garrett made the announcement on Saturday that Romo’s MRI revealed a fracture, and the Cowboys now expect him to miss between 6-10 weeks.
Romo’s injury is not to the same bone he broke in his back during the 2014 season, which he played through. But he had managed to walk off the field without assistance. If Dak does not play well, and Romo comes back healthy and playing well.
Romo was injured during the team’s first series of its 27-17 preseason loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday night. At the quarterback position, the next man is Dak Prescott. While there is an obvious disappointment in losing Romo, who is 15-4 over his last 19 starts, “everyone must keep going”, cornerback Morris Claiborne said. A native of Dallas, Taylor spent the past 20 years writing for The Dallas Morning News, where he covered high schools sports, the Texas Rangers and spent 11 seasons covering the Dallas Cowboys before becoming a general columnist in 2006. “I was going into a slide”. A player has to open training camp on PUP in order to be placed on it when the season starts. In his three preseason games with the Cowboys, he is 39/50 with 5 touchdowns, 0 interceptions, and 454 yards. But I’m pretty sure when he got here, he was like, I’m going to be the future of this franchise. “That’s players and that’s coaches”. “There’s quarterbacks that are out there and don’t have a home right now, and then there’s quarterbacks that other teams have right now – of course we can’t talk about those players”. It’s just different strategy, believing in one another. Being that he is no spring chicken, the Cowboys should take precautions with him. “The name of the game for us has always been focusing on taking things one day at a time and also have the “next man in” mentality”.
