Jason Kidd ejected for furiously slapping ball out of referee’s hands
Sacramento had lost all five of those games, but the Kings picked up the slack in a big way against the Bucks, getting double-digit scoring from six of the eight players who appeared in the game.
Gay had 14 points in the first quarter to help the Kings take a 40-33 lead.
Coming out of halftime, the Kings kept on shooting and, more importantly, they clamped down on defense, as well, and held the Bucks to 43.9 percent of their shots in the second half.
Although Gay had a great game, the story of the Kings’ offensive success was really the balance of their scoring, as six players finished with double-digit scoring.
Jason Kidd was ejected from Wednesday’s Milwaukee Bucks-Sacramento Kings game after angrily knocking the ball out of a referee’s hands. Kidd was ejected with 1:49 to play in the game.
“I called a timeout”, Kidd said.
“I was having a Coke and eating some popcorn”, Kidd said.
“From there, I’m trying to protect my guys”. “I got to the foul line early and that’s how I got my rhythm”.
Forward Giannis Antetokounmpo and shooting guard Khris Middleton scored 21 points each and forward John Henson added 15 for the Bucks. Former Bucks coach George Karl’s Kings didn’t bring their best defensive effort either, but outscored Milwaukee. Power forward DeMarcus Cousins sat out for the sixth time this season.
Rajon Rondo posted another near triple-double, dropping in 10 points, 13 assists and nine rebounds in 39 minutes.
