Jat Agitation: Haryana CM faces black flags, ‘murdabaad’ slogans on Rohtak visit
The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Tuesday directed the Haryana government to submit a status report on the Jat agitation by next Monday.
Earlier, Khattar was shown black flags by a section of traders and residents who raised slogans against him and questioned his government’s failure to deal with the Jat agitation.
“Out of 26 petrol pumps damaged during the agitation, eight of these are in Rohtak, five in Bhiwani and six in Jhajjar”.
“There are some forces behind the recent incidents. We will get it probed”, said Khattar. He left for Delhi after a while.
During the 20-minute meeting, Singh is believed to have told PM Modi that the situation in Haryana, which was hit by Jat agitation for quota, has improved significantly following multiple action, including deployment of army and central forces, sources said.
Sources said Vij made a mention of the issue in the informal discussion with Khattar and cabinet colleagues.
He assured that the people who have faced problems because of the protests will be compensated.
He said there was news of some water being released from Haryana last night and expressed hope that water supply can be partially restored in west Delhi by the evening.

Curfews ended in the towns of Hissar and Hansi as law and order were restored after three days of violence which saw crowds burning vehicles, banks, railway stations, shops and petrol stations.
Hisar and Kaithal districts remained tense after members of Jat and non-Jat communities headed for a clash.
The protests eased on Sunday after Haryana’s government agreed to the Jats’ demand for preferential access to sought-after government jobs and university places under India’s caste-based quota system.
Delhi water board authorities were working with experts in the army and Haryana state on Tuesday to fix the damage done by the protesters, said Mishra, the Delhi water minister. The loss to property is estimated to be in hundreds of crores.
Protestors from the Jat community, an agricultural caste in Haryana state, destroyed infrastructure in the Munak canal on Saturday, effectively cutting off two-third’s of New Delhi’s water supply.
