Javier Hernandez reveals why he left Manchester United
However, during United’s 2014/15 campaign, which was Van Gaal’s first season in charge of the Red Devils, Hernandez chose to sign a season-long loan with Real Madrid.
The striker’s departure is likely a source of enormous frustration to United fans.
With numbers like this “Little Pea” would seem like exactly the kind of man United would like to have loitering around the Old Trafford six-yard box, but in an interview with Movistar reported by Marca, Hernandez revealed exactly how little Louis Van Gaal thought of him.
According to espnfc.com, the Manchester United board members have made a decision to call an emergency meeting before the beginning of the January transfer window to discuss the discontent that the players feel under van Gaal’s leadership.
While United were being dumped out of the Champions League and then losing to Bournemouth, Hernandez was busy scoring against Barcelona and then netting a hat-trick in the Bundesliga.
“I have been confident since the first day and I feel important here, not only for the goals but in all the games that I watch, I see myself in the line-up”.
It is unsurprising that, as United captain Wayne Rooney struggles for form and the club continues to rely on the talented but very raw Anthony Martial, people are now looking at Hernandez and wondering why he was allowed to leave.
But he admits things changed when Sir Alex Ferguson left in 2013.
“I’m so grateful to Ferguson”, he said.
Van Gaal’s side have looked short of a cutting edge this season. Every player had his place.
They wanted to air their grievances to the Dutchman and his under-performing squad, who have not won any of their last five games in all competitions.
It’s not all doom and gloom at Old Trafford, and the defensively solid team are still firmly in the title race, but the sale of the popular striker and United’s resulting problems mean patience is certainly wearing thin in some quarters.
