‘Jaxon Strong’: Baby Born With Partial Brain Meets Santa for First Time
15 months later, Jaxon is still kicking and doing what many American toddlers do this time of the year: meet with the popular authority on Yule-tide joy.
The “miracle baby” has captured the hearts of thousands through photos and updates shared on Facebook.
Jaxon Buell is a 15 months boy who was born with Microhydranecephaly, an extremely rare condition that affects the brain. The little boy has microhydranencephaly, an extreme brain malformation that many doctors predicted would end his life soon after birth. However, his health status is so good that he was able to visit Santa Claus, which his mother Brittany shared by posting a picture on the social network, according to AOL.
Brandon then posted a photo with a message thanking and wishing Jaxon’s supporters a merry Christmas and a happy new year.
Jaxon is now learning the basic skills like how to walk, speak, smile and communicate.
“We’re just so relieved and happy to watch our son growing before our eyes”. Jaxon Buell, whose incredible story was shared all over the Internet with the #JaxonStrong hashtag, was pictured snuggling Santa recently and social media has gone into a frenzy over it.
Brandon also reported that Jaxon can now eat on his own.
He said: “No doctor could tell us exactly what was wrong or what to expect, but we did make sure to ask if Jaxon was in pain or was suffering, and we asked if there were any added risks for Brittany during the pregnancy or potentially at time of delivery”.
His dad, Brandon Buell hopes that Jaxon grows up to be an inspiring person like other people with disabilities are and he says that he knows that Jaxon lives for a reason. Buell said he and his family are thankful for Jaxon’s presence even if his long-term survival is far from guaranteed.
