Jay McGuiness wins Strictly Come Dancing
Strictly Come Dancing 2015 has come to an end with Jay McGuiness being crowned champion, beating off fierce competition from the likes of Kellie Bright and Georgia May Foote.
He added: “It’s not the best dancer that wins, it’s whoever changes the lives of people at home”.
However, partner Aliona Vilani said their showdance would contain a segment from that crowd-pleasing jive. “All I wanted to do was get to the final”.
Broadcaster Katie Derham and Anton Du Beke were fancied to finish in fourth place.
And there was another surprise appearance from Mary Berry tonight, as she joined Claudia and introduced the show.
The 25-year-old singer and his professional dance partner Aliona Vilani couldn’t believe it when they were handed the coveted Glitterball trophy ahead of runner ups Kellie Bright and Georgia May Foote.
“I always collect tattoos when something awesome happened or something I want to remember, so yeah why not?”
She said: “In our showdance, we have to do something where I jump up in the air and spin around once and land”.
On Monday Jay said that he and Aliona – who is actually married – are “best friends”, and that is it… there is nothing more to their relationship.
The Wanted hunk leaned in ridiculously close to his professional dance partner after completing their routine, prompting some to question if the pair kissed. For their final dance Kellie and Kevin chose to do their Star Wars themed Charleston.
The highest peak from both shows was 11.9 million as Kellie Bright and Kevin Clifton danced.
Revel Horwood agreed: “I was disappointed, I really was”. I’ve never felt it during the whole time we’ve been on the show.
Appearing on Lorraine this morning, he said: “A lovely TV executive called Louise gifted us some whisky so I was a little bit warm during that”.
