Jeb Bush and Hillary Clinton Clash on ‘Longer Hours’ for Workers
It’s pretty clear now that the mainstream media underestimated Bernie Sanders. But as Mr. Sabato and Nate Silver, the prominent journalist and statistician, pointed out, the early surge of enthusiasm for Mr. Sanders may just be indicative of a candidate’s profile lining up perfectly with the demographics of early voting states.
So it’s understandable if a touch of giddiness has infected the usually implacable Sanders and his campaign advisors.
Ms. Clinton, who failed so spectacularly to become president in 2008, still holds innumerable advantages over Mr. Sanders, a 73-year-old socialist, experts say.
“The voters are already there”. They don’t want to provide a path to citzenship.
“People talk about Howard Dean’s yowl, but the fact of the matter is, that campaign had peaked at a certain point”, Burling said. And while she may think it’s absolutely hilarious that Republicans are concerned that she might be withholding information relevant to the death of an American ambassador from an oversight committee, the people in charge of the investigation are preeeeeeeeetty sure the issue is kind of important. So, when South Carolina Rep. Trey Gowdy sets his sights on proving someone has not been truthful – most of us would say proving someone is lying – it’s a good bet Gowdy has the goods. It begins with raising roughly $50 million by the end of the year, a target that once seemed impractical but now appears conservative. Her campaign staff have started telegraphing that they are taking Sanders’ challenge seriously and are maybe even a little anxious about the momentum he is picking up in states like Iowa and New Hampshire.
“What I am trying to do is at least have enough of an opportunity to have a conversation with people”, Clinton said.
I had thought the Vermont senator would be a colorful character in the campaign, but that if anyone was going to break out against Hillary, it would be ex- Maryland governor and Baltimore mayor Martin O’Malley. As Stephen Miller has noted on Twitter, what’s interesting is that while reporters at his events will regularly tweet about the size of his crowds or energy of his supporters, they rarely mention the substance of his remarks.
Fox’s Joe Trippi, who of course managed the campaign of insurgent Howard Dean, was quoted as saying: “Certainly she could lose Iowa”. In the weeks before the Iowa caucuses, Dean was well ahead in most polls; he ended up losing to Kerry, the establishment choice.
“To close the gap with Mrs. Clinton, Mr. Sanders will need to make big gains among less liberal Democratic primary voters”, Mr. Cohn wrote.
Besides, a more careful look at the polls demonstrates how far Sanders still has to go. Will they volunteer to help him get out the vote a week later in snowy New Hampshire? Democrats still maintain a positive view of her, but Republicans believe it will weaken her in a general election.
Hillary Clinton has shared that the 2016 Presidency would be her “last rodeo” on the USA politics.
But it wasn’t just the subpoena issue Clinton was dishonest about in the interview.
Here’s the “rush” transcript CNN sent out right after Clinton’s interview with Brianna Keilar on Tuesday. It’s not going to happen.
