Jeb Bush releases 60-second TV ad attacking ‘jerk’ Donald Trump
Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, an establishment Republican struggling to regain ground in polls, stood alone in aggressively slapping back Trump and his Muslim ban, saying it was counterproductive and unrealistic. The ad also played footage of a Bush supporter who said Trump’s criticism of the disabled reporter had inspired him to get behind the former governor.
During the Fox Business Network debate, moderator Maria Bartiromo asked Cruz to explain comments he made previously about Trump having “New York values”.
Billionaire real estate mogul and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump proudly declared that he assumes the “mantle of anger”, then proceeded to double down on earlier comments demanding a temporary ban on all Muslim immigration.
“I hope you reconsider this, because this policy is a policy that makes it impossible to build the coalition necessary to take out ISIS”.
“So, are we going to ban Muslims from India, from Indonesia, from countries that are strong allies – that we need to build better relationships with? You’re not going to allow them to come to our country?”
Bush suggested that instead of a blanket ban, there should be more stringent screening of refugees.
Today, millions of Syrians, both Christians and Muslims, are refugees, escaping starvation and bombed out cities, but Trump wants no part of them, making the words inscribed on the Statue of Liberty hollow rhetoric.
“I think probably the worst feeling in the world when we hear about something like 9/11 or San Bernardino or the Paris attacks-the worst possible thing I could hear after hearing about those tragedies-is that somebody who identifies as Muslim committed those crimes”, Nawara Alawa, a 24-year-old Muslim American, said during an interview. We have to do this in unison with the Arab world. Every time we send signals like, this we send a signal of weakness, not strength. We’re friends. That’s good.
“We need the Saudis, we need the Egyptians, we need the Jordanians”, he implored, to fight the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria. Unfortunately, two who fit the bill won’t be in the debate tonight.
