Republican Jeb Bush and his allies have amassed more than 4 million to advance his presidential bid, leaping past all his rivals in the 2016 White House contest.
Spies said Right to Rise had collected money from 9,900 donors – most of whom contributed $25,000 or less – and entered July with $98 million in cash available for the GOP’s crowded primary battle. The super PAC created to support Jeb Bush’s presidential ambitions pulled in over $103 million.
Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush stated Wednesday that in order to develop the economy “people want to operate longer hours” – a comment that the Bush campaign argues, was a reference to underemployedpart-time workers but which Democrats are now applying to attack him.
Sure, the former Florida governor had a network of donors (via his brother and father, both former presidents) to tap into – and he essentially exploited a campaign finance loophole to raise such massive funds. Unlike with donations directly to campaigns, which are capped, super-PACs can accept unlimited amounts of money so long as they don’t coordinate directly with the campaign. So far, she has raised a total of $60 million, about million of which came from her Super PAC, Priorities USA Action.
According to an article I read about this – at work, where my employers (should they be reading) must know that I spend a lot of my time – Bush told the newspaper, “My aspiration for the country and I believe we can achieve it, is four-percent growth as far as the eye can see”.
That number may actually closer to $110 million, according to a tweet from Wall Street Journal political reporter Beth Reinhard.
Like Bush, several other GOP candidates have said ahead of that deadline how much their campaigns have raised.
Bush’s team “has raised more and been more successful than any political organization ever”, said Bush donor Mark Jacobs, a former Texas energy executive.
The affiliated group, Right to Rise, has been active since January.
Romney himself, meanwhile, was a guest at the Bush family compound in Kennebunkport, Maine, on Monday, the New York Times reported. His campaign team had downplayed talk of raising $100 million since the figure was first floated months ago, but in the end they blew past that figure by 14 percent.
Among Democrats, the party’s front-runner Hillary Clinton has raised the most, pulling in $45 million since April.
