Jeb Bush says Donald Trump a ‘creature’ of Barack Obama
For the last five months, as Donald Trump has surged and Jeb Bush has foundered, one of the biggest questions in politics has been: What the hell is Right to Rise doing? According to a Real Clear Politics average of polling data, Donald Trump is still leading nationally, with 36 percent of support of likely Republican voters compared to Ted Cruz’s 19 percent of support.
“I would say my biggest mistake was probably not taking Donald Trump seriously enough”, said Harry Enten, senior political analyst for FiveThirtyEight.
Clinton wasn’t the only one who got her fair share of words from the billionaire as Trump also called out to Bush, telling him that it would be best if the former Florida governor would just go home and stop wasting his time since he has very low figures in polls anyway. Which, in the case of Jeb Bush, of course, has been Donald Trump.
Bush and his allies long thought that his financial advantage – as seen in the warchests of both his campaign and his super PAC – would give him dominance in the Republican primary.
The Bush campaign confirmed Wednesday that it would be canceling $3 million in reserved TV advertisements, refocusing the money on getting more staffers on the ground in early voting states, SC and Iowa.
However, it sounds a bit like Trump might be a bit jealous of the $60 million he says that Bush spent on campaign ads. He explained that caucusing requires a lot of time and effort, and an understanding that most participants will spend the majority of their evening at the local precinct standing in line, listening to speeches and eventually casting their vote.
“I’m proud of the fact I can spend the least”, he said.
The comments come as Bush continues his full assault on Trump over the past several weeks questioning everything from his rival’s seriousness to intellectual prowess.
“Of those people who are all gone, they’re all people who attacked me”, Trump said of the Republican candidates who have dropped out of the race.
Trump hasn’t loosened his grip on the headlines since, and even more national media were on hand Wednesday. It was a joke that spoke, I think, to a serious point.
“If I get elected, we’re going to win a lot”. That was the – their point wasn’t how are people feeling, you know, in the primary, their mission was how do we win?
President Obama believes Trump is “exploiting” the anxieties of blue-collar workers in his campaign, as Obama told Inskeep in a wide-ranging interview at the White House this month. Aren’t you still going to be vulnerable on this in a general election? You can’t use hairspray!
