Jeb Bush says Donald Trump is wrong about Syria and the refugees
In recent years, Americans’ attitudes toward Islam and Muslims have been relatively stable following terrorist attacks.
“Back and forth it goes”, Bush continued.
In a tweet, Trump called Kasich a “dummy” and “one of the worst presidential candidates in history”. He has declined to rule out a national database of Muslims and when asked whether the steps he was advocating were similar to those taken by the Nazis against the Jews, he replied: “You tell me”.
Carson’s campaign reported strong fundraising and more than 100,000 new Facebook friends in the 24 hours after he told NBC’s “Meet the Press” in September, “I would not advocate that we put a Muslim in charge of this nation”.
“It did happen in New Jersey”, Mr Trump said.
“You might not care if Donald Trump says Muslims should register with their government, because you’re not one”, says Moe over ominous music, before going on to list other groups targeted by the former The Apprentice presenter.
“It’s a miscommunication”, said Darrell Scott, the senior pastor of New Spirit Revival Center in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, who has helped to arrange meetings between Trump and black pastors in recent months. “I’ve heard Jersey City”.
We do not have religious tests for our compassion, the president said.
“Trump, he said, has been wrong on Syria and on the refugees pretty consistently”. “And I wouldn’t be surprised if we found them…but for some reason, they’re not that easy to come by”. Palin’s and Trump’s political styles are very similar – policy-light, resentment-heavy, personality-driven – and after the former Alaska governor was vaulted to the top of Republican politics in 2008, she won the adoration of conservative activists and mainstream Republicans alike with her folksy, inane, “you betcha” shtick.
Another pastor on the list, Bishop Orrin Pullings Sr., of United Nations International Church Fellowship in South Richmond, Virginia, said in a statement that he planned to attend the meeting with Trump but not as an endorsement. This is the pattern perhaps of an entertainer.
The controversy could be starting to hurt Trump, who has dropped 12 percentage points in the polls in the past five days, according to Reuters/Ipsos opinion polling of Republican voters nationally. “I’m leading in Florida against a sitting senator”, Trump reminded the crowd. “You can also see how my local mosque makes PB&J sandwiches for the homeless and hosts interfaith dinners where everyone is welcome”.
DONALD TRUMP: Chuck, you have a huge Muslim population over there.
Even so, some observers say the verbal attacks risk alienating larger segments of voters, particularly other immigrants anxious they could be next. “Can you imagine that, the face of our next president?”
