HillaryClinton has a sizable advantage over all other Democratic and Republican candidates among registered Hispanic voters, according to a new bipartisan Univision poll out Thursday. In addition, 59 percent saidthey were satisfied with Obama’s performance in the last six years.
The survey found that 67 percent of Nevada Hispanic voters would support Clinton over former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, whom 25 percent saidthey would support. Marco Rubio (5 percent), retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson (4 percent), Kentucky Sen. Ted Cruz at 6%; Florida Sen. But in the all-important state of Florida, the former secretary of state’s lead is narrower, at just 49 percent to 44 percent.
With regard to Trump, the majority of Hispanic voters – 79 percent – feel that his recent comments about Mexican immigrants were “offensive”, although only 14 percent feel that they represent the general point of view of the Republican Party.
Trump has repeatedly claimed that “Hispanics love me” and that he “will win the Hispanic vote”.
In the survey’s hypothetical head-to-head matchups.
The lead for Bush is based largely on his strength with moderate GOP voters, where Bush gets 30 percent of the vote, to 12 percent for Trump and 9 percent for Walker.
The governor ranked ninth among 16 GOP presidential candidates, garnering only 3 percent of support from likely Republican primary voters, according to a Suffolk University/USA Today poll released Tuesday. But almost 4 in 10 (39 percent) said they would be more likely to vote for a candidate if he or she spoke Spanish fluently. Clinton, though not fluent, has sprinkled in a few lines on occasion.
Sixty-eight percent of Latino voters have a favorable opinion of Clinton, who is running for president for the secondtime, while just 36 percent feel the same way about Bush.
Survey firms Bendixen & Amandi and The Tarrance Group interviewed 1,400 registered Hispanic in English and Spanish between June 12-25 and July 7-13, and the poll has an error margin of 2.62 percent.
