‘Jem and the Holograms’ Trailer Introduces the Robot Synergy
Jem And The Holograms was birthed as a toy line back in the 1980s and appeared in TV ‘toon form between 1985 and 1988, selling like hotcakes and becoming a minor sensation, albeit more across the pond than here.
Looks like it’s “Showtime, Synergy!”: the latest trailer for Universal Pictures’ Jem and the Holograms is finally here.

The first trailer for the film remake of the 80s cartoon underwhelmed numerous fans that grew up on the series.
In the cartoon, Synergy was a sentient computer programme who projected Jem’s rock star appearance – as well as the audio visual special effects for the band’s performances – via her micro-projector earrings. Synergy is the device Jem gets her powers of illusion from.
Online, where we get new footage and hear from director Jon M. Chu along with stars Molly Ringwald, Aubrey Peeples and Hayley Kiyoko.
The film is set to hit theaters on October 23, so we’ll see how it’ll go over with fans.
