Jennifer Aniston sheds a tear during ’emotional’ Friends reunion

The show was hosted by Bravo star Andy Cohen and featured more than 40 actors who were directed by Burrows on shows such as Taxi, Cheers, The Big Bang Theory, Frasier, Will & Grace and Mike & Molly. The cast will reunite in an NBC tribute special for TV Director James Burrows on Sunday, Feb. 21, and in anticipation, the network has released a sneak peek.

NBC/Chris Haston/NBC Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, Courteney Cox, Matt LeBlanc, Jennifer Aniston all got together for the James Burrows TV tribute. Aniston added later, “We experienced friendship, family, heartbreak, babies, everything, together”. I love that Aniston (who, if anyone cares, was wearing a great outfit tonight, which should surprise exactly no one) chose this episode as her favorite.

She said: “The three girls, we had lunch together every day for 10 years”.

This was the question doing the rounds in the promo for the show and a long-running rumour, but Lisa confirmed that, nope, she was not asked to sign anything, although she didn’t speak for the rest of them mind…

Kudrow said they were all well aware of Burrows’ track record when they were cast in the show. “There’s one missing”, LeBlanc said. We’ve all watched Ross try to get Rachel to notice him without much success for months.

The cast of hit American sitcom “Friends” set the foundation for their on and off screen friendship by playing a game of poker, at the insistence of their director.

Burrows career started in 1974 when he directed an episode of The Mary Tyler Moore Show after writing the star a letter. The other actors on-stage stayed pretty mum. It can be nothing like what the sitcom was, but now this is the closest we can get to be with them. Plus, the Friends cast was years ahead of casts live-tweeting their shows today, as they would often gather to watch each episode together during the beginning of the series to give each other suggestions. “It was not a ‘we have to do this, ugh.’ We fell in love and adored each other instantly”. “I can’t count how many times I heard people say that Jimmy was like their surrogate father”, Irwin says.
