Jennifer Lawrence may reteam with a ‘Hunger Games’ director
State intelligence officer Dominika Egorova struggles to survive in the cast-iron bureaucracy of post-Soviet intelligence.
The story follows Dominika as she seeks revenge against her heartless Russian masters, and living a fatal double life after she is recruited by the CIA to ferret out a high-level traitor in Washington, while still hoping to return to Moscow as part of the new generation of Vladimir Putin’s intelligence service. Even though she didn’t speak of the person she is now but so many films after her debut role in Winter’s Bone The Hunger Games star seems to be more timid. Ordered to become a “Sparrow”, a trained seductress, Dominika is assigned to Nathaniel Nash, who handles the CIA’s most important Russian mole. There was talk that Jennifer Lawrence was being eyed earlier this summer, when Francis Lawrence came aboard, but she might not be officially attached for some time.
A big screen adaptation of the book has been in the works for a while now.
It was previously reported during the San Diego Comic-Con that Francis was eying involvement in the action thriller. However it looks like there is a possibility that the pair will reunite for another movie. It will be produced by Steven Zaillian and Garrett Basch.
Deadline reports that, while there is no official deal in place at the moment, the Academy Award-winning actress is interested in joining Red Sparrow at Fox.
