Jennifer Lawrence Tops Forbes List of Highest-Paid Actresses
Forbes noted that only four of the women on this year’s highest-paid list, which takes into account earnings from movies, television, endorsements and other sources, made more than US$20 million, while 21 male actors reached that level.
The Hunger Games star leads Forbes list ofHollywood’s Highest-Paid Actresses, published Thursday, with $52 million dollars.
Last year’s No. 1 actress, Sandra Bullock, made only $8 million after bringing in $51 million the year before, according to Reuters.
Jennifer Aniston, Julia Roberts, Angelina Jolie, Reese Witherspoon, Anne Hathaway and Kristen Stewart were all in the top ten. Even so, the lowest grossing man in the actors’ top 10 was Mark Wahlberg with $32 million, further proving the uneven numbers and financial value between actors and actresses – with only a few like Lawrence and Johansson allowed to be exceptions.
Lawrence will be seen next in the final installment in the “Hunger Games” franchise, “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2” in November, followed by “Joy” on Christmas Day which reteams the star with her “Silver Linings Playbook”/”American Hustle” director David O. Russell and stars Bradley Cooper and Robert De Niro. For the past three years in a row, Fan has topped Forbes’ China Celebrity 100 list, which ranks the popularity and earnings of Chinese celebrities, and she’s best known for her appearances in films like The White-Haired Witch of Lunar Kingdom and X-Men: Days of Future Past.
