Jeremy Clarkson’s new Amazon car show could be called ‘Gear Knobs’
They used a similar scheme to set up company Bedder 6 Ltd, which was in charge of Top Gear’s lucrative merchandising revenue.
And Richard insists that while his new Amazon Prime car show with Jeremy and James has given them the opportunity to get really creative, there’s a lot of pressure on them to succeed.
As reported by Buzzfeed, Jeremy Clarkson’s law firm Olswang registered the phrase “Gear Knobs” as a trademark two weeks before the trio announced their deal with Amazon.
Producer Andy Wilman added that the promise of a good budget and editorial freedom prompted the team to go with Amazon Prime – over other interested parties including Netflix and ITV.
The trio announced the launch of their new £160million Amazon venture in July, but have so far remained tight-lipped about the exact format or the name of the show.
Gear Knobs, or whatever it ends up being called, should be available to watch on the streaming service in autumn, 2016.
News broke yesterday that the host – who has replaced Jeremy Clarkson – wants to broadcast the show live every week.

“Gear Knobs” is trademarked to new company Newincco 1361 Limited which has also trademarked “Gear Nobs“, and the name “Speedbird” which is speculated to be a charater on the show.
Top Gear bosses are reportedly planning to censor new presenter Chris Evans.
