Jeremy Maclin Reportedly Planning to Meet with Ravens After Bills Visit
Maclin would help bolster the Bills offense, but it’s their defense that needs the most help. “Because he was cut so late on Friday, he’ll be on today’s wire, which officially makes him free”. And they spoke very openly about their desires to see Maclin in a Bills uniform and even think they have the inside track on landing him. ESPN’s Adam Schefter first reported that Maclin is visiting with the Buffalo Bills, and if he leaves there without a deal, the Baltimore Ravens are next up on his itinerary. I wish him the best of luck moving forward.
Despite signing both Alshon Jeffery and Torrey Smith this past offseason to upgrade the receiver position, the Eagles don’t have many “sure things” among their wideouts.
Now of course second year wide receiver Will Fuller is the future when it comes to the Texans’ number two wide receiver alongside DeAndre Hopkins. When Maclin went to Kansas City, Pederson was the Chiefs offensive coordinator for his first season there.
It is uncertain if Maclin will have significant contributions to Buffalo.
In seven seasons, Maclin has 6,395 receiving yards and 46 touchdowns with the Eagles and Chiefs.
Maclin has some connections in Buffalo, and running back LeSean McCoy quickly acknowledged serving as a lead recruiter. Adding a player like Maclin to the mix certainly couldn’t hurt. The leadership and locker room presence the 28-year-old can provide the Eagles could be worth the investment.
“This is part of the National Football League business”, Reid acknowledged.
“That’s mostly his area and I know he’s had that rolling around for a while as he’s gone through”, Reid said. He’s suffered through some injury trouble, but the Bills could use another veteran option to go with Sammy Watkins and rookie Zay Jones.
