Jerry Bance No Longer Conservative Candidate Following Hidden Camera Urination
Canadians are stereotyped as being very well mannered. He then empties the mug down the sink, rinses it briefly and replaces it.
Potential embarrassments are rarely aired until critical times – this 2012 footage unearthed late in 2015 in an attempt to derail Harper. “I take great pride in my work and the footage from that day does not reflect who I am as a professional or a person”, CBC News quoted Jerry Bance as saying.
The Conservative candidate has been running for Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s party in a Toronto district.
A statement from Bance, released by the Conservative campaign Sunday night, said he deeply regretted his actions on that day.
Marketplace has done a series of programs called “When the Repairman Knocks”, in which a home is wired with numerous hidden cameras and microphones.
Bance – who was the owner of an appliance fix company – can be seen looking into the next room to make sure his customer isn’t watching before squattng to relieve himself.
After performing a brief fix job, Mr Bance proceeds to grab a cup from the kitchen sink and answer nature’s call – inside the mug.
The phase that includes Bance begins at 22:40.
Mr Bance has ran as a candidate for the Conservatives twice before, both in 2006 and in 2008.
Predictably the incident gained rapid traction on social media, with the creatively named “peegate” hashtag trending on Twitter and copious amounts of memes appearing in the wake of the footage’s republication.
