Jerusalem Attacks: At Least 3 Israelis Killed After Palestinians Stab, Open
According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, at least 30 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces between October 1 and 13. The driver also go out a stabbed at least eight people, emergency medical services said. “I’m sure the steps we will take will let the other side know that terror doesn’t pay”.
Funerals of Palestinians killed during unrest or while allegedly carrying out attacks – as well as videos of the shootings – have fed anger.
Instead, Israel’s public security minister, Gilad Erdan, said officials in his country are mulling several options aimed at bolstering security, like closing off the Palestinian suburbs of east Jerusalem. The attack took place near an IKEA store in Kiryat Ata, located in northern Israel.
The protest was attended by several Arab lawmakers including Knesset member Jamal Zahalka who said “our demands are an immediate end to entry of right-wing lunatics into the al-Aqsa Mosque plaza, and a removal of all restrictions on the entry of Arabs and Muslims”.
The 22-year-old victim was moderately wounded.
On Monday, Palestinians carried out three stabbings in Jerusalem, leaving a teenage Israeli boy in critical condition.
“We are shocked by this heinous act, express our revulsion at it and deeply empathize with the families of the dead and pray for the speedy recovery of the wounded”, the Bezeq telephone company said in a statement.
The army says it is using “riot dispersal means” against the crowd. More than 15 people were wounded.
The attacks come amid soaring tension in Israel and the occupied Palestinian territory, which have seen fierce clashes since the beginning of the month.
Last night, Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton weighed in on the violence though she did not mention the Palestinian casualties. The assault occurred in close proximity to the adjacent Arab neighborhood of Jabal Mukkabir, killing two and injuring 17 others.
“Israel is doing brutal actions are not only directed to the Palestinian people, but it is also addressed to the contemporary global system as a whole, and leads to serious violations”, he continued. The Israeli military said it held Hamas responsible for any attacks from Gaza. One man was killed and six others wounded.
Israeli daily, Jerusalem Post reported that following Tuesday morning’s attacks, Deputy Foreign Minister Tzipi Hotovely said that Israel should consider halting its monthly financial transfers to Palestinian authority because “the blood of Israeli citizens is on the hands of [PA President] Mahmoud Abbas and his colleagues who are inciting children to commit murder”.
A spokesman for Hamas, the Islamist movement that controls the Gaza Strip, called the attacks “heroic” and said the “intifada is intensifying”. One person was killed.
Bezeq was quick to distance itself from the attack perpetrated by one of its employees.
The random nature of the stabbing attacks, which don’t appear to be the work of an organized terrorist group, has been perpetrated by lone wolves so to speak, making the crime hard to prevent. The bus attack alone, carried out by a pair of terrorists, resulted in two deaths and sent 16 people to the hospital with injuries, according to police. Nearly simultaneously, there was another stabbing attack in another part of the city.
A police commander in the Ra’anana area told Israeli media that civilians chased the perpetrator and caught him.
Four Israelis were wounded in two stabbing attacks in Raanana, north of Tel Aviv.
