Jerusalem Fire in Lake County doubles in size
Worsening conditions at the wildfire have prompted authorities to issue a second evacuation order this weekend.
The area where the fire started is heavily populated by Red Shank trees, said Pat Boss, project manager with the Mountain Communities Fire Safe Council.
“When you can’t support firefighters on the ground, fires get bigger, ” said Ken Pimlott, director of the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection.
More than 1,100 firefighters have been battling the blaze.
The fire is burning in Mohave Valley, near Goose Lake, in northwestern Arizona. There they are helping to manage three fires merging on the Shasta-Trinity and the Six Rivers National Forests.
The driver of the motor home was transported to a local hospital after suffering first- and second-degree burns on 3% of his body.

The blaze off State Route 74 near Anza started as a motor home blaze that spread to vegetation on Monday afternoon.
