Jessa Duggar Seewald and Husband Reveal Meaning Behind Son Spurgeon’s Name
Knowing Jessa would want to be a hands-on mom, Jill advised her not to feel so bad when friends and family offer lots of help in caring for her new baby within the first few weeks. Jessa was rushed to a local hospital without her son, and said the hardest part was leaving her baby behind.
And in an uncaring dig at her unmarried and childless sister, who is giving up her own life to be at the beck and call of her sister, Jessa said: “You never realize the responsibility of being a parent until you have a baby yourself”.
Jessa Duggar Seewald, 23, can’t get enough of sharing photos of her first child, Spurgeon Elliot.
I said, ‘That’s it!
The baby boy’s middle name Elliot has been derived from late missionaries Jim and Elisabeth Elliot’s name. In honor of her son turning one week old on November 12, she shared an up close look at her sleeping bundle of joy, and also revealed how she and husband Ben Seewald, 20, came up with the unique baby name.
In the video, the baby boy wears a cute red and black stripped onesie as he inches across the quilt on hands and knees while Jill urges him on.
She was rushed to hospital and needed a blood transfusion after ten hours of labor at home.
Jessa successfully gave birth at home under the surveillance and support of Duggar matriarch Michelle, but the warm event suddenly gave way to something alarming when Jessa went into excessive bleeding. You were a champ! “I felt those contractions with you”, Jill writes in the Dillard Family Blog.
“I’m so excited to both be on this motherhood journey together!”
Meanwhile, Jessa is thrilled her childbirth will be featured on her upcoming three-part TLC TV show, “Jill & Jessa: Counting On“, after “19 Kids and Counting” was canceled several months ago.
What do you think about Jana Duggar’s Cinderella situation?
“[Jim] died on the mission field”, Ben says in the clip.
