‘Jessica Jones’ trailers keep getting darker and better
Female superheroes may be having a moment, but don’t think for a second that Jessica Jones is anything like Supergirl. Now, this trailer gives us more insight into the plot and characters. As early reports of the show’s pilots have teased, the show is possibly the darkest take on a Marvel property to date, with only Netflix’s excellent Daredevil series even being worthy of such descriptions.
The 13-episode series will premiere on Netflix on November 20th, 2015.
The rest of the supporting cast, which includes Carrie-Anne Moss as Jeri Hogarth and Rachael Taylor as Trish Walker, also appear throughout the trailer, the former asking Jessica how she’ll handle a mind-controller while the latter appears to at a few point fall under his influence. There’s strong sexual tension between the two, and since Cage will have his own story soon enough, it’s likely that he’ll complement Jones’ narrative as opposed to serving his own. New footage in the trailer show a few more scenes with the creepy Dr. Zebediah Killgrave, a.k.a. The Purple Man, played by the very talented Tenth Doctor himself, David Tennant. Jessica Jones is the second.
Netflix’s handling of Marvel properties comes at an important time. Have a look at the latest trailer above.
