Jessica Simpson, dad in legal fight over fashion company deal
Joe Simpson said they did have a deal with Jeffrey Bowler to pay him 10 percent of their proceeds if he successfully sold the Simpson brand.
Jessica Simpson has been sued by a Hollywood executive seeking a $12 million commission from her father Joe Simpson over the sale of the singer’s successful fashion line.
Joe has now claimed Bowler tried to extort him by threatening to drag the whole Simpson family, including Tina and Ashlee, into an embarrassing public lawsuit if he didn’t chalk over the $12 million. The case is a little more complicated, as the plaintiff alleges it was a verbal agreement made over the phone – and never in writing – about a decade ago.
