Jets’ Brandon Marshall turned off ‘disgusting’ Pats – Texans game
Citing a source, WEEI’s Mike Petraglia reports that Jacoby Brissett suffered a torn thumb ligament in his throwing hand during Thursday night’s win over the Houston Texans.
Jacoby Brissett made his first career National Football League start in front of a primetime audience on Thursday night, leading the Patriots to a dominant 27-0 victory over the Houston Texans in Foxboro. Brissett, a third-round draft pick out of N.C. State, completed 11 of 19 passes for 103 yards, and also ran in a 27-yard touchdown while playing through an injured right thumb.
Brissett was filling in during Tom Brady’s four-game suspension and after Jimmy Garoppolo suffered a shoulder injury in the team’s second game of the season.
Although Jacoby Brissett’s release time wasn’t as quick as most Tom Brady or Jimmy Garoppolo games, it was enough to get the job done.

The turnover led to immediate points for the Patriots as rookie quarterback Jacoby Brissett rushed for a 27-yard touchdown to boost the lead to 10-0. “Can you fill in (the blank?)”, Marshall said. “I wouldn’t really want anything to deflect the credit that they deserve for what they accomplished tonight”.
