Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick undergoing thumb surgery, may not miss a game

After back-to-back 17-point efforts though, Buffalo will head into its next game – a primetime showdown against the now undefeated New England Patriots and the league’s top offence – with confidence gained.

Ryan’s explanation is a bit confusing; Johnson was only in San Francisco in 2014, when Ryan himself coached the Jets.

It would have been nice if the Jets (5-4 overall, 1-2 AFC West) would have won this game.

Buffalo’s next assignment will be a Monday night matchup vs. the Patriots in Foxboro.

“The media made it all about me, ” he said. That will be followed by a visit to Kansas City. Still, this is a winnable game.

They play well at times, badly at others, which is exactly how. And you know what? The first quarter ended with the fifth punt of the game while the Jets held on to what would be their only lead of the night, 3-0. Or do they just not know how to consistently put teams away?

The key for the Bills will be their health.

The captain tag is something that players vote on, head coaches they give their title to. He’s also doing a nice job managing Tyrod Taylor, who once again played turnover-free. No question he is the straw that stirs the drink. If he goes down, the Bills won’t be going to the playoffs.

The NY tabloids had their typical fun with Ryan Friday morning.

Fitzpatrick was 15-of-34 for 193 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. Gang Green practically handed the win to Buffalo on a silver platter, their were countless opportunities the Jets were given to pull off the upset and defeat Ryan’s bills.

The NY Jets could only watch as Rex Ryan pumped his fists, jumped around the sideline and celebrated a victory-sealing interception.

Despite bringing in Michael Vick as the backup to Smith, injuries in the already-thin secondary contributed to a pass-friendly defense while issues of player discipline-most infamously Smith allegedly not being penalized for his lateness to a team meeting-cropped up.

“I was disappointed, but it was typical Rex”, he said.

The rest of the Bills offense is perfectly happy to keep setting Williams up a rise through the record books.

Bowles made another in-game error by trying to run out the clock late in the first half against the Jaguars last week.
