Jets, Ryan Fitzpatrick topple Bills, 37-31
Todd Bowles’ desperate and pissed-off bunch had an offensive eruption in a 37-31 win over the Bills Thursday night to restore sanity among the panicked souls wondering whether the season might unravel so quickly after a Week 1 loss. If Enunwa continues to play as he has so far this season, the offense could put up better numbers than it did a year ago. By the end of the second TD drive, Fitz had 211 yards passing and the Jets had scored on all four possessions. “We knew, obviously, they have a great group of receivers: Decker and Brandon Marshall”. He went to the locker room for further examination, but nearly immediately returned to the game.
For Thursday, at least, the Jets could celebrate finally beating Ryan, and finally cashing in their next chance to leave Buffalo happy, after last season’s misery. A play later, he completed an 18-yard pass to Marshall up the left sideline to help set up a 5-yard touchdown pass to Eric Decker, which put the Jets up 20-7. While fans might call for more blitzes, it’s not realistic when the Bills’ top two cornerbacks, Stephon Gilmore and Ronald Darby, couldn’t cover the Jets’ receivers. The Bills were granted a generous spot on a fourth down attempt.
The first Jets touchdown gave NY the lead following the three-and-out.

Then Buffalo scored twice in a span of 2:07 to go up 24-20.
It has been a frustrating start to the season for Brandon Marshall from a production standpoint.
Resiliency mattered, too. Early in the second half, the Bills quickly turned the momentum with TDs within the first four minutes of the third quarter.
The Bills have been downright putrid on one side of the ball in each of their first two losses.
As quick as the Bills took the lead was as quick as they saw it slip away.
The Bills had one insane series in the fourth quarter that made no sense.
In other words, the Bills might very well be looking down the barrel of a 0-4 start.
The Jets responded to score 17 consecutive points, capped by Matt Forte’s third touchdown on a 12-yard run. This season, once again, they’ll meet the Bills in Week 17 – this time at MetLife Stadium on New Year’s Day.
With time running out, the Bills came down the field and took their first snap in the red zone with two minutes left. Taylor would find Mike Gillislee for a touchdown afterwards, but the Bills were unable to recover the onside kick, effectively ending the game. They have to put up points and get more players involved.
Not only did Fitzpatrick throw for 374 yards – his second-best total with the Jets – but six different targets caught a pass from him. Meanwhile Decker, Enunwa and Forte made sure the offense didn’t miss a beat.
Forte’s three touchdowns came with 100 yards on 30 carries.
