Jets Take Lead in 2nd Quarter vs. Redskins

Somehow, Washington head coach Jay Gruden does not seem anxious about Cousins. Right when the opposing team figures out one thing, you need to have a counter to it. The Redskins rarely do that.

It worked. Known for their power-running offense, the Redskins rushed for only 34 yards on 17 carries.

For the third time during Washington’s last four games, the Redskins failed to rush for at least 100 yards as a team. Fitzpatrick’s scramble came one play after cornerback Darrelle Revis intercepted Washington quarterback Kirk Cousins. For the first time since his injury, Griffin was active and ready to play, but knew he would not be placed in the game.

Though Todd Bowles had said that Richardson needed to get back into football shape, the third-year defensive lineman ended up playing quite a bit.

Nick Folk tied it at 13 with a 39-yard field goal early in the second half.
