Jilted bride wears wedding dress to color run
Just a week before her wedding day, her longtime fiancé called it off. She says he broke the news to her via text and naturally the bride-to-be was devastated.
The jilted bride then thanked her fiance for sparing her the heartache she would have experienced in the future if they had gotten married. “I wanted that day and week to be a celebration of our commitment and love and to just be unbelievable”.
After a few unbearably sad days, Manulak chose to do something drastic.
“It was actually very liberating, I don’t want a pity party”.
For Kilee Manulak, participating in a color run 5k in her bright white wedding dress was a way to forget about a broken engagement.
The women covered their dresses in paint, and Manulak even took to the main stage.
They are not sure if the color will ever come out of the dress, but Rios said that Manulak’s happiness is the most important thing. “I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, I should do this in my dress!'”
She’s glad she did.
She said she wanted others to see her story and gain strength from it. She also had a message for the man who called off the wedding.
Manulak hopes to sell the dress if the color can be washed out and is ultimately thankful to her former fiancé for the experience. Manulak and her friends had a much better solution for dealing with this massive blow.
