Jimmy Carter handles cancer with humor at public Q&A
The couple sat together in the same chapel where Carter last month held an honest and detailed news conference about his illness.
Carter, who was president from 1977 to 1981, said that so far, he had experienced no adverse effects caused by the treatment he was receiving to eradicate four small spots of cancer that doctors found in his brain in August.
“One of the worst things I have to do is drink”.
Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter on Tuesday called on Germany to take the lead in solving the European migrant crisis.
He added the most challenging aspect of his treatment was the large amount of liquids doctors have directed he take.
“Instead of getting productive work done, I spend a lot of time in the restroom”, he said. It’s why so many felt compelled to come and hear him speak.
“So much has changed, and I was there to experience it”, she said.
John and Marie Plakos flew all the way from Washington State to see the former president. He also said he’d encouraged US leaders to talk with Russian President Vladimir Putin about making that happen.
“If anybody could make it through the treatments and still be healthy, it would be [him]”, said Mrs. Plakos.
“I’m in good spirits”, Carter said.
“We need to get on the same side whenever we possibly can with Russian Federation to promote peace in the world and harmony and future economic development for everybody”, he said.
