Jimmy Fallon back at ‘Tonight’ following gruesome injury
Following a gruesome finger injury and a brief summer vacation, Jimmy Fallon returned to The Tonight Show Monday with Paul Rudd and a new drinking game called Drinko.
Comcast-owned NBC ran repeats of “The Tonight Show” during Fallon’s absence.
“Usually they just cut your finger off. It’s just a mad story”. I tripped and fell and I caught my fall.
In June, Fallon said that he tripped in his apartment and injured his finger, but that was all the details he gave.
Delightful! But thankfully Fallon’s near-mutilation hasn’t kept him from having fun-last night he and guest Paul Rudd imbibed cocktails like peppermint schnapps and…gravy and tequila…as part of a boozy take on Plinko, appropriately dubbed “Drinko”.
Monday was the host’s first night back in over two weeks.
“I can’t tell you how excited I am to be back and seeing you guys here. I think I broke my finger!’ And they go, ‘Oh, you didn’t break your finger.'”. A-V-U-L-S-I-O-N. If you Google it, it’s graphic images. Get out! I’m telling you, you’re going to be fine. “I can’t wait to burn it to the ground”.
Fallon underwent a six-hour surgery in which doctors removed a vein from his foot and implanted it in his mangled hand. I’m getting up and my finger is sideways.
“I won’t get the feeling back for eight weeks”, Fallon said, pointing at his bandaged hand, explaining that he had spent 10 days after the surgery recovering in the intensive care unit.
No, Higgins, the announcer for the show, was hospitalized for a week after being diagnosed with Lyme disease.
