Jindal answers Planned Parenthood rally with video display
Gov. Jindal did. He, like many of his pro-life colleagues, were disgusted by what they saw (workers treating aborted babies like goods and services, keeping clients in the dark, etc.) and are launching investigations into the organization and introducing bills to defund it.
On Tuesday, South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley joined that group, ordering her state’s health department to review the policies and practices of all abortion clinics in the state, including the three operated by Planned Parenthood.
Rep. John Katko (R-Camillus) said he supports a congressional investigation into Planned Parenthood’s practices.
At the rally, the protesters said playing the video was a political stunt. CMP alleges that Planned Parenthood profits from the sale of fetal tissue, which would violate federal law.
“This attack on Planned Parenthood is a major move in a fascist assault to completely annihilate women’s right to abortion, ” said Sunsara Taylor from Stop Patriarchy”.
But they’d be open to it. Jindal’s decision came in response to the videos, which have been released over a period of weeks as part of a national push to strip Planned Parenthood of all federal funding. “But we just have not had that arrangement”. Craig also says the Saturday protests aren’t about funding.
“Oh yeah, if you have intact cases – which we’ve done a lot – we sometimes ship those back to our lab in its entirety”, she says.
The protest in Fort Collins will take place from 9 to 11 a.m. outside Planned Parenthood at 825 S. Shields St. The Fort Collins protest sponsor is 40 Days for Life.
“Despite that rather blustery letter from AHCA today, nothing has changed”, she said. “Again, these things are not brand new to us… but it certainly has been at a hyper-developed level this summer”. The organization said that it has reported the information the same way for the past nine years.
“We are here for our patients, no matter what”.
The Pro-Life Society’s Monica Migliorino Miller is helping to organize the Saturday protests. However, LaBorde called the videos an educational tool and said the issue of abortion is a personal one for all the governor’s staff. The videos spread by anti-abortion groups actually showed negotiations over reimbursement for costs. This group was formed with the sole intent of destroying Planned Parenthood by any means – and the effort took nearly two years of planning and underhanded and dishonest activities.
