Jindal plans to talk about Trump to ensure media will cover him
“It’s a joke. It’s a complete disaster for the Democrat Party“, the email concludes. They’ve had the Senate. But that is not to say that Jindal is ideal.
“We can’t just send any Republican to the White House“, he said.
Speaking up against the party establishment isn’t exactly unusual on the presidential campaign trail this year.
“While the media is obsessed with Republicans trying to fight Republicans who talk about Donald Trump, they seem to be ignoring the soap opera that’s happening in the Democratic Party.”
In a discussion about secretly recorded videos at Planned Parenthood, Jindal said he would terminate his state’s Medicaid agreement with the organization. “I think voters are looking for a doer, not a talker”. And this list doesn’t even include Joe Biden.
But Jindal hasn’t been getting headlines lately. Eight other Republicans were ahead of them.
The Washington Post immediately took note of Mr Jindal’s new strategy, carrying a headline reading, “Bobby Jindal’s new strategy: Donald Trump Donald Trump Donald Trump“. “In terms of the policy implications, I’m a strong Second Amendment supporter and I don’t think we should be infringing on law-abiding citizens’ rights”, Jindal said, adding that the emphasis should instead be put on thorough background checks and mental health examinations for those who wish to purchase a firearm.
WHAT’S NEXT: Jindal will hold another lunch meet and greet in a Pizza Ranch, this time at noon Tuesday in Muscatine. On the other hand, Bush increased spending, but pushed through several large tax cuts as governor.
Ron and Judy Seiler of Muscatine are not committed to a candidate yet but said they are nonetheless impressed with Jindal.
So far, his polling and fundraising have not lived up in the polls to his storied legacy from childhood to the governor’s mansion, but as he surpasses bashing Trump, and calling out Hillary Clinton’s dishonesty and “Weekend at Bernie” Sanders’ unsettling socialism, he may rise to a better occasion and take his place in the Big Ten (or Seven or Five) Debate stage in the months that follow. “Many state programs are countercyclical, so a governor who is in charge during a recession might look worse from a spending point-of-view than someone during a boom cycle”.
