JJ Henry birdies final hole to take lead in Barracuda Championship

The Scot had an eagle, five birdies and three bogeys.

David Toms and 2012 victor J.J. Henry were tied for fourth at 12 points apiece. Blixt began the day at 24 points (T3) and two points adrift of 36-hole, co-leaders Brendan Steele and Andres Gonzales. Vaughn Taylor won in 2004 and 2005.

“I love coming here”.

“So it is just a combination of a few things, nice place, a good format for me, and obviously the timing was right“.

Henry said his course knowledge is a big reason he plays so well at Montreux.

“We (Blixt) kind of fed off each other”. “With soft greens, you know, these guys are good”.

The last bunch of birdies made for a quick charge on the leaderboard.

“I think it’s the format I needed with the year that I’ve had, ” Sucher said. “I’ve played well all week”. “I wouldn’t have been able to do it without my caddie, Brandon DeStefano”.

The West Australian has played only 15 events to date and with a best finish of T26 hasn’t done enough to return full time to the PGA TOUR.

“Tee to green it (his game) has been getting better every week”. “Then I started being aggressive and started hitting it a lot closer”.

“For the most part I drove it in play all day except for the 17th hole today”. After play ended, the rain briefly hit a bit harder.

Justin Rose went 30 straight holes without making a birdie.

Robert Garrigus had 37 points after a 16-point round. He made putts ranging from 1 to 10 feet during his streak.

“It was ideal yardage for a little sand wedge in there”, Toms said. “Somebody is going to play well, and fortunately it’s been me so far after three rounds”.

Blixt also went on a birdie binge of his own (9 through 14). Arjun Atwal has a total of 3 bogeys with no birdies while the other golfer Daniel Chopra has a total of four bogeys with 2 birdies unlike the former Arjun Atwal. “Just got to keep your head forward and just enjoy it”.

“Then by Tuesday morning, Juls, my wife, and everyone said you’ve gotta go and play, you feel like you’re playing well”. I chunked two shots. That’s going to happen here. The putter is working good. “And I was just obviously really satisfied with it”.
