JJ Watt admits he’s lonely and looking for love
“How would you know?”
Just as he does on the field, Watt shared that he wants to give a relationship his all.
The Defensive Player of the Year told ESPN: “I put more air into the helmet now, hopefully 330-pound men won’t try to rip it off again”.
According to a new interview with NFL.com, Watt talked about his efforts in finding Ms. Right. Speculation rose not too long ago that Watt was dating Danish tennis star Caroline Wozniacki, but it doesn’t look like that’s the case anymore.
Although it was a small piece buried in a pretty extensive profile of Watt’s life, the quote took on a life of its own as it seems that every other sports site on the planet ran with it.
“Having an ownership stake is exciting to me because of how much I believe in the product and the people behind it”, said Watt, who wears an XXL unaltered off the rack. “I’m just unsuccessful. My schedule’s so insane and life’s so busy, it just hasn’t worked”, he explains.
Silver writes that Watt is anxious about the motives of potential partners, but he does get lonely. So you can’t have somebody that’s just gonna be OK in that life, ’cause you have to deal with all this craziness right now.
Watt got two sacks in the opening game after notching up 20.5 sacks for the second season in his career in 2014. “You have no idea”, the 26-year-old said. You don’t know who wants you for you, who wants you for the money, who wants you for the fame. But I also know that you have to be in the right place to do that. “And I need to make sure that I have figured out the proper balance in my life so that I can give the proper time and energy that’s needed for that situation”.
Watt says it’s hard to figure out someone’s motivation – are they in it for his money and fame, or do they truly like J.J. for himself?
But you can’t think about love on paper like that.
