JK Rowling’s ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’ trailer just dropped
It is both a spin-off and a prequel to the author’s successful “Harry Potter” franchise.
But something in the briefcase is making unsettling noises, and Redmayne’s brilliant but shy wizard Newt Scamander looks anxious. David Yates (director of most of the Harry Potter films) will take on with his magical directing craft, at least for the first part of a confirmed trilogy and David Heyman, the man who produced the 8 Potter films, is set to produce the 9th.
Poor Newt travels to America with a suitcase full of fantastic beasts and a head full of dreams, but America does not like wizards and witches quite like the UK. Apparently, these mystical creatures have been set free, so much of the story of the film will be tracking them down. There is however a tie in to the likeable character, as Newt is the author of Fantastic Beasts which is one of Harry’s textbooks on the reading syllabus at Hogwarts. At the time, proceeds went to Comic Relief. These books raised about £17 million, and include some handwritten notes from popular side character and friend of Harry Potter, Ronald Weasley.
The io9 finally shows the long awaited J.K. Rowling’s latest world of magic trailer “Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them”. Luckily we have this trailer to keep us going, with the promise of two more films to come (no solid details yet).
Considering that the book was meant to be non-fiction within the universe of Harry Potter, it is interesting to see it be adapted into a film.
Along with Redmayne in the film’s cast are Katherine Waterston (Tina Goldstein), Colin Farrell (Percival Graves), Dan Fogler (Jacob Kowalski), Alison Sudol (Queenie Goldstein), Carmen Ejogo (Seraphina), Samantha Morton (Mary Lou), Ezra Miller (Credence).
The movie, written by Queen JK Rowling herself, follows the adventures of English magizoologist and wizard Newt Scamander (played by Oscar victor and quite hot Eddie Redmayne) in NY seventy years before the events of the main series.
“Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them” hits theaters on November 18, 2016.
